Christian Bernadel, age 26, of Stamford, was found in Norwalk Harbor around 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, after police received a report from a boater, said Lt. Joe Dinho, of the Norwalk Poice.

Norwalk Police Marine Unit and Norwalk Fire Marine Unit responded to the location and recovered Bernadel.

The cause of death is still not known and the case remains active, Dinho said.

Detectives are awaiting findings from the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

"Our deepest condolences to Mr. Bernade’s family and friends," Dinho said.
